2019-02-13T15:03:18+00:00
If you are pregnant and currently taking a STOP or CAUTION medication:
  • Take a deep breath, this happens to a lot of women
  • Stop STOP and CAUTION list medications
  • Continue GO list medications
  • Estimate when your last menstrual period (LMP) was
  • Write down what medications you are taking and when you last took them (the more accurate information the better your doctor can understand the risks)
  • Call your rheumatologist and tell them you are pregnant and are taking a medication that might cause birth defects
  • NOTE: They may want to start a GO list medication to avoid a Lupus flare (a Lupus flare might harm your baby)
  • Call your obstetrician (OB/GYN) and tell them you are pregnant and are taking a medication that might cause birth defects
  • Start taking a prenatal vitamin
