Your Story Can Help
Our goal is to enhance understanding and communication between physicians and women with lupus. One way to do this is by sharing our stories of living with and managing lupus in pregnancy. The more stories, the more we can all learn from each other.
Why share?
Providers: We all know that managing lupus during pregnancy can be tough emotionally and medically. Your stories can support, provide solidarity, and inform other providers with your personal experiences. Your story can also help patients better understand the relationship they have with their team by “pulling back the curtain” on the mysteries of the medical profession, as well as see the risks and benefits of decisions.
Patients: Your story could give comfort, or hope, or support, or solidarity, to other women, and could help to educate patients, healthcare providers, and researchers about the real lives of women with lupus.
How will your story be shared?
We may feature your story in a discussion on Facebook Live, in a future HOP-STEP resource, or even in a grant application. We will keep your story anonymous.
Consider adding your voice by sharing your story with HOP-STEP: email us at hop-step@duke.edu.
