If you are pregnant and currently taking a STOP or CAUTION medication:
- Take a deep breath, this happens to a lot of women
- Stop STOP and CAUTION list medications
- Continue GO list medications
- Estimate when your last menstrual period (LMP) was
- Write down what medications you are taking and when you last took them (the more accurate information the better your doctor can understand the risks)
- Call your rheumatologist and tell them you are pregnant and are taking a medication that might cause birth defects
- NOTE: They may want to start a GO list medication to avoid a Lupus flare (a Lupus flare might harm your baby)
- Call your obstetrician (OB/GYN) and tell them you are pregnant and are taking a medication that might cause birth defects
- Start taking a prenatal vitamin
